Kitchen Display System

A kitchen display system that\u2019s built around how a real kitchen cooks.

Paper tickets get lost. Whiteboards get erased. Yelling across a hot line costs time. The Dines Kitchen Display System (KDS) gives every station a live board of tickets in three simple lanes — Incoming, Preparing, Ready — so a chef always knows exactly what to fire next.

When two tables order the same dish within the same window, Dines intelligently batches the cooking without losing which table gets which plate. Fewer redundant fires. Cleaner passes. Faster service.

What you get

3-lane workflow

Incoming → Preparing → Ready. Every ticket has a clear next action, nothing is ambiguous.

Same-dish batching

Multiple tables ordering the same dish are batched into one fire, still tagged by table.

Live ticket timing

Every ticket shows how long it’s been open so nothing lingers past your target.

Waiter routing

When a dish is marked ready, only the waiter for that table gets pinged.

Kitchen KPIs

Average ticket time, ready-vs-served lag, tickets in flight — all on the same screen.

Mobile + big-screen

Works on a tablet at the pass, a phone at a station or a big TV over the line.

How it works

  1. Step 01
    Ticket arrives

Every order (QR or waiter) appears in Incoming, grouped by table.

  2. Step 02
    Chef accepts

One tap moves the ticket to Preparing. Timer starts.

  3. Step 03
    Chef marks ready

Ticket moves to Ready. Waiter for that table is notified in real time.

  4. Step 04
    Waiter serves

Ready ticket clears when the waiter confirms served.

Why it matters

  • Fewer missed tickets — nothing disappears under a plate at the pass.
  • Cleaner communication — no yelling, no runners hunting for a chef.
  • Chefs cook, they don’t track paper.
  • Managers get real numbers on ticket time and kitchen throughput.
  • The right waiter is always the one pinged — no cross-waiter confusion.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a special screen?

No. Any browser will do — tablet, phone, laptop or a wall-mounted TV with a mini PC. Dines is responsive on all sizes.

Can I have more than one KDS?

Yes. Multi-station setups (tandoor, grill, cold, dessert) with per-station routing are on the roadmap.

What happens if a chef marks something ready by mistake?

A batch recall workflow is on the roadmap so the chef can pull a ticket back to Preparing when a plate needs a re-fire.

Does the KDS work offline?

Dines is cloud-connected. If your internet drops the KDS reconnects automatically when it’s back — no tickets lost.
